Their aims are nothing short of world domination. The Big Four are not only the powers behind many criminal undertakings, they are also involved in international intrigue and even in revolution. They have stumbled upon a gigantic criminal conspiracy by a cabal of diabolical criminal masterminds known as the Big Four. Poirot and his friend and colleague Captain Hastings find themselves involved in a case that soon proves to be much bigger than it seemed. ![]() The results are more successful than you might expect. Given that Wallace was just about the most popular author of the 1920s it’s perhaps not so surprising that Christie tried to emulate him. What it is is Agatha Christie’s attempt at an Edgar Wallace-style thriller. Agatha Christie’s The Big Four is a 1927 Hercule Poirot mystery, only it’s not a mystery at all. ![]()
